In the Time of Trouble

This resource is designed to provide case studies for clergy and other caregivers to discuss some of the most difficult pastoral issues in the church today. Sexual misconduct, unexpected death and other pastoral situations are made real by powerful stories that transport you into the situation. Through the process of reading, discussing and reflecting on the stories, participants can allow identify issues, discuss personal feeling and develop effective strategies to respond to similar situations in their contexts. Ideal for pastoral care givers and/or groups but also useful with congregational leaders.

There are four stories in the resource, which can be used in whatever way is most appropriate for your parish or group. You may choose to form a single group of participants to read and discuss all of the stories, or you might assemble a different group for each story/discussion.

This resource is a downloadable file – permission is granted to the purchasing church to make as many copies as needed to implement the program. A PDF file is provided for printing and a WORD document file is provided for
you to customize the resource.
